Senior Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has registered an unwanted record in his name after getting dismissed on a golden duck in the first innings of the first Test against South Africa at the SuperSport Park, Centurion on Sunday, December 26.

Cheteshwar Pujara the veteran of 93 Tests has witnessed a big downfall in his career and a lot of question marks have been raised over his inclusion in the playing XI despite his inconsistent performance with the bat in both homes and away games. In 14 Test games, he has played in 2021, Pujara has scored only 686 runs at an average of 28.58 including 6 half-centuries.

Meanwhile, in the first Test of the three-match Test series against Dean Elgar-led South Africa, Pujara was dismissed on a golden duck by Lungi Ngidi in 41th over of the innings.
