IND vs SA- Match Preview, India’s Tour Of South Africa 2021-22, 2nd ODI. India and South Africa will face each other in the 2nd ODI of the ongoing series. IND vs SA 2nd ODI is scheduled to take place on January 21 (Friday) at Boland Park Stadium in Paarl. The hosts South Africa outplayed India in the 1st ODI by 31 runs.

In IND vs SA 1st ODI, South Africa slammed 296-4 on the scoreboard after opting to bat first. Openers Quinton de Kock and Janneman Malan could not go big, hitting 27 and 6 respectively. Aiden Markram also lost his wicket for just 4 runs. However, Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen slammed astonishing centuries later.

Bavuma slammed 110 and Rassie hit unbeaten 129 to build a brilliant 204-run stand for the 4th wicket. Indian bowlers managed to get early wickets but totally failed against the Temba-Rassie duo. Jasprit Bumrah got 2 scalps while Ravichandran Ashwin picked 1 wicket. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur, and Yuzvendra Chahal remained wicketless as the home team piled up 296-4 on the board.

Later, India lost opener KL Rahul cheaply for 12. However, Shikhar Dhawan slammed 79 runs and one-down Virat Kohli supported him with his 51-run knock. Both also made a 92-run partnership. However, India lost quick wickets in the middle-order which affected their innings.

Rishabh Pant (16), Shreyas Iyer (17), and Venkatesh Iyer (2) got out within a span of 3 overs to send the team into backfoot. After reaching 188-6 at one point, India’s hope of victory was almost diminished. In the end, Shardul Thakur did manage to pile up some runs with his unbeaten 50. However, India finished on the losing end, reaching 265-8 in 50 overs.
