India pacer Jasprit Bumrah provided what was a perfect finish to an excellent day for Team India against South Africa. The speedster delivered an accurate yorker that was too good for the nightwatchman Keshav Maharaj as he was cleaned up.

Starting at around off-stump, the ball tailed in nicely and yorked Keshav Maharaj, thereby clipping his leg stump. The partnership between skipper Dean Elgar and Keshav Maharaj was turning out to be frustrating but Team India struck just at the right moment and will go back to the pavilion a very happy side.

As many as 13 wickets fell on Day 4 as India are arguably in the driver’s seat to win the game. India started the day in a rather dodgy fashion with wickets at regular intervals. But the likes of Rishabh Pant played a very handy knock and ensured that although India were bowled out for 174, they still had a fine target of 305 on the board.

The South Africa openers once again failed to give the perfect start as Aiden Markram was once again cleaned up by Mohammed Shami. Keegan Peterson edged one behind to Mohammed Siraj and it looked like India would probably finish the game on Day 4 itself. However, Elgar and Rassie van der Dussen built a fine partnership and steadied the South African ship.

Just when it looked like South Africa would go unscathed with their two experienced batsmen at the crease, Bumrah produced a beauty that cleaned up Van der Dussen. Keshav Maharaj’s wicket means that India are now just six wickets away from completing a famous win at Centurion. If the weather holds up well, India will be the favorites to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
