Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur provided India with a crucial breakthrough by dismissing South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock on Day 3 of the first Test at the SuperSport Park, Centurion on Tuesday, December 28.
South Africa Wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock and vice-captain Temba Bavuma looked brilliant against the Indian bowling unit and they were playing a counterattack innings after losing some quick wickets, they added 72 runs off 134 balls before de Kock was dismissed by pacer Shardul Thakur in the first ball of the 35th over.

South Africa Batters Off To A Poor Start On Day 3

South Africa were off to a very poor start against the Indian pace trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami.
Jasprit Bumrah provided India with the big breakthrough in the first over itself by dismissing the opposition skipper Dean Elgar in the 5th ball.
Then Keegan Petersen and Aiden Markram who were trying to build a partnership were dismissed by senior pacer Shami. Rassie van der Dussen was also sent back to the pavilion by Mohammed Siraj.
At the time of writing, half of the South African team have been sent back to the dugout and Temba Bavuma is batting alongside Wiaan Mulder.
