Earlier, India National Cricket Team won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match. The new-ball bowlers of the Indian team performed incredibly well and reduced Zimbabwe to 31/4.
Medium-pacer Deepak Chahar, who made a comeback to international cricket after a 6-month-long injury layoff, dismantled the top-order batting unit of Zimbabwe by taking the wickets of Wesley Madhevere, Tadiwanashe Marumani and Innocent Kaia.

Pacer Prasidh Krishna, who was a bit expensive than other bowlers, picked up huge wickets of Ryan Burl, Sikandar Raza and Richard Ngarava. Left-arm spinner Axar Patel also bagged a 3-wicket haul by dismissing Luke Jongwe, Regis Chakabva and Victor Nyauchi.
The best partnership for Zimbabwe came between Brad Evans and Richard Ngarava for the 9th wicket as they were able to add 70 runs in 65 balls to help Zimbabwe post 189 runs on the board. The 70-run partnership between Brad Evans and Richard Ngarava is Zimbabwe’s highest 9th wicket partnership against India in ODIs. Overall, this is Zimbabwe’s 4th highest 9th wicket partnership in the history of ODIs.

Chasing the target, the opening duo of Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill provided India with a great start. They completed 50 runs partnership in 68 balls and 100 runs partnership in 115 balls.
Veteran opener Dhawan continued his batting brilliance in ODIs and scored his half-century off 76 balls and Gill smashed his half-century off 51 balls.
Both the openers kept batting brilliantly and they completed the run-chase in 30.5 overs to help Team India register their 13th consecutive win over Zimbabwe. Also, the 192-run stand between Dhawan (81) and Gill (82) is India’s second highest opening stand in a 10-wicket win in ODIs.

Here’s How Twitter Reacted To India vs Zimbabwe 1st ODI:
Simple and clinical. An easy 10 wicket win for India. #ZIMvIND. One ✅ two to go… @BCCI

Thumping 10 wicket win for India. Dhawan and Gill barely troubled as Zim bowling had no bite or edge resulting in lack of opportunity for more Indian batsmen to also show their form.
