Delhi Capitals take on Chennai Super Kings in match 55 of IPL 2022 at the DY Patil stadium in Mumbai on May 8, Sunday. Delhi is placed fifth on the points table with 10 points from 10 matches. They have four matches remaining and need to win all four games to make it to the playoffs. This is the first time both these teams are facing each other in IPL 2022.

Delhi Capitals beat SRH in their previous game as David Warner scored a brilliant 92 against his former club. Delhi seems to be peaking at the right time. Skipper Rishabh Pant spoke about the batting group clicking as a unit as they scored over 200 runs batting first.

Shaw missed the last game against SRH with a niggle. While Mandeep Singh scored a duck as his replacement. DC would like to go back to their regular player at the top of the order.

Mitchell Marsh will slot in at number three in the batting order. The Australian all-rounder has played some handy cameos in the last few matches. Against SRH, he scored 10 off 7 balls.

Rishabh Pant

Pant has been good as a skipper for Delhi Capitals. However, he has been under par as a batsman. Pant needs to get some key runs for his team in the last few matches remaining. Against SRH, he scored 26 off 16 balls.

Powell plundered the SRH bowling attack and scored an unbeaten 67 off 35 balls powering Delhi to a score of over 200 runs, The West Indian has been playing handy knocks in the last few games for DC and has won them games single-handedly.

The Punjab batsman can slot in the middle-order if Shaw gets back as an opener in the batting line-up. Mandeep Singh has not been given too many opportunities so far in the season.

Yadav batting at number seven extends DC’s batting lineup. Lalit has also bowled handly off-spin for Delhi Capitals apart from bowling a few good overs.

Shardul Thakur

The Indian all-rounder will be one of the medium pacers in DC’s playing XI. Against SRH, he picked up two for 44 as Delhi. So far in this IPL season, Thakur has picked up nine wickets.

Kuldeep is second on the Purple Cap list with 18 wickets to his name. Kuldeep has repeatedly thanked Pant for his success and spoke about how he has helped him key get back to the reckoning for an India comeback.

The left-arm pacer made a memorable comeback to the side picking up 3/30. Overall, he has picked 14wickets in seven matches and played his part in Delhi’s wins so far.

Nortje finally made a return to the Delhi Capitals playing XI against SRH. He picked up 1 for 35 and helped the team win a crucial game against SRH. He will conclude DC’s predicted playing XI against Chennai Super Kings.
