The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) were seen wearing a different jersey than usual in the 41st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 against Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, April 28.

The Delhi Capitals (DC) players wearing a different jersey is part of the team’s unique initiative and partnership with the fundraising and fan engagement platform MatchWornShirt.

The Jerseys worn by the players will be auctioned and the DC fans will have an opportunity to get the signed shirts of their favourite players, all whilst raising funds for charity.

The fans can place bids on the Delhi Capitals’ jerseys worn by the players and the bids placed by the fans will help them to raise funds for the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) Vijayanagar, which is a unique initiative led by the JSW Group and is India’s first privately-funded High-Performance Training Centre that trains talented young athletes across various Olympic disciplines.

The funds that will be raised through auctioning the shirts will be used in nurturing the future sporting stars of India.

Notably, the fans can place their bids on the jerseys worn by players at matchwornshirt.com/club/delhi-capitals and the bidding process will end on 15th May. Once the bidding process is over the highest bidders will have their shirts delivered to them, which will be signed by players. Also, the shirts will be disinfected after the match.

Delhi Capitals (DC) Interim CEO, Vinod Bisht, while talking about this unique initiative said that they always aim at giving back to society and they make sure that the DC fans are part of every activity the franchise does. He asserted:

“Giving back to the society and making sure our fans feel they are an integral part of the Delhi Capitals family, has always been at the heart of our franchise. We always try to make our fans a part of everything we do. This time, the team will be sporting a special jersey, and I am sure fans will be excited to own it as well as help us in raising funds for the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS), which has given and been producing the sporting role models for our country.”
