Delhi Capitals (DC) wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant took one of the best catches of the season behind the stumps when he grabbed a one-hander of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper, Shreyas Iyer, on Thursday.
After Pant asked KKR to bat first at the Wankhede Stadium, KKR lost the returning Aaron Finch early. Venkatesh Iyer’s horrendous IPL 2022 season continued as he fell for a 12-ball 6.
Kuldeep Yadav, having already bagged a 4-wicket haul against his former team this season, continued dominating them and took the wickets of Baba Aparajith and Sunil Narine off successive deliveries.
He wasn’t done as the leg-spinner was brought back to break the partnership between Iyer and Nitish Rana. The duo had put on 48 runs for the 5th wicket when Kuldeep had Iyer caught behind.
A short and wide delivery bowled by Kuldeep was met with a cut from Iyer. Unfortunately, he only managed to get an under-edge and Pant stuck his right hand out to grab the ball in his mittens.
