Delhi Capitals (DC) opener David Warner lavished praise on the bowling attack for putting up a stellar performance in the night game at the Wankhede Stadium against the Punjab Kings.

After Rishabh Pant opted to bowl first, the bowlers backed their skipper up by restricting PBKS to 115 in 20 overs. In response, Warner and Prithvi Shaw pulverized the PBKS attack and DC finished with a 9-wicket win.

I think the bowlers did a fantastic job and made it easier for us. We had to go hard in the powerplay during the chase. It was a different surface compared to the last night, but credit to our bowlers,” Warner said at the post-match presentation.

Warner also said that it was a pleasure to play with his opening partner, Prithvi Shaw, with whom he put on 83 runs for the first wicket in just 6.2 overs, completely killing off the game.

Was grateful that we were able to get out of our rooms and play tonight. I was just trying to be positive and am happy to have played with Shaw… For me, it’s about sticking to the basics and I tried to put my best footwork forward.”

Hopefully, I’ll be able to do going forward. My kids just want to know why I cannot get a hundred like Jos Buttler does. It’s great that the little ones around the world keep watching this game,” Shaw added.
