Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) started with a thumping win against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by six wickets in the IPL 2022 opener.

They won three of four games before suffering five games in a row. By the time they came back to winning ways, things were out of their hands.

With 401 runs in 14 matches, KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer scored the most runs for the team while Andre Russell picked the most wickets this season – 17 in 14 outings.

1. KKR vs MI (April 6, Pune)

KKR handed Mumbai Indians their third defeat in a row in IPL 2022 as the Shreyas Iyer-led side chased 162 with four overs to spare.

Australian Test captain Cummins, who played his first match for KKR in IPL 2022, blitzed 56 runs off 15 balls at a staggering strike rate of 373.33.

Cummins scored the joint-highest fastest fifty in IPL after he brought up his third IPl fifty in just 14 balls to join Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul in the milestone.

Cummins clobbered six massive sixes and four boundaries in his splendorous innings, he scored 34 runs in an over of Australian teammate Daniel Sams to script a spectacular win for KKR.

2. MI vs KKR (May 9, Navi Mumbai)

If Pat Cummins wreaked havoc with the bat in the last KKR-MI match then this time the Australian showed his mettle with the ball.

Cummins bowled a fiery spell of 3/22 in response to his nemesis Jasprit Bumrah’s 5/10. Andre Russell (2/22) and Tim Southee (1/10) complemented the Australian as KKR won by 52 runs.

Ishan Kishan’s 51 was the only solace for MI in their yet another disappointing collapse and were bowled out for 113 in 17.3 overs.

3. KKR vs RR (May 2, Mumbai)

KKR thumped Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets to end their five-match losing streak in IPL 2022.

KKR bowlers bowled well to restrict Rajasthan Royals to a below-par score of 152/5.

Nitish Rana’s unbeaten 48 anchored the chase while Rinku Singh’s 23-ball 42-run cameo helped KKR overhaul the moderate score with five balls to spare.

Rinku Singh hit six boundaries and a six over fine leg off Kuldeep Sen’s bowling in the course of his crafted innings.

Skipper Shreyas Iyer also played a sensible inning of 34 in 32 balls to set the tone for the chase.
