Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Supergiants are the two new teams that have been added to the IPL 2022 roster. Both teams face off against each other on March 28 at the Wankhede stadium to get their respective campaigns started. The teams are led by two players who know each other very well Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul.
The IPL 2022 season has 74 matches to be played across 65 days. The matches will be held across the four venues in Maharashtra. Wankhede and DY Patil Stadium will host 20 matches each while the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai and MCA Stadium in Pune will play hosts to 15 games each.
The franchise has managed to assemble a strong squad with Rashid Khan leading the bowling attack. The franchised has a few other good bowlers who can play a key role in their IPL 2022 campaign. Ahead of GT’s campaign opener against LSG, we take a look at three players who can win the Purple Cap for the franchise.

Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan is the most reputed T20 bowler in T20 cricket at the moment. He has played across various T20 leagues and has made an impact on all of them. He has played his best in the IPL. Playing for SRH from 2017, he picked up 93 wickets. He parted ways with the franchise as he was not their first pick when the retentions were announced. He is looking forward to creating a new legacy with Guharat Titans.

Mohammed Shami
Shami was picked up by the franchise for 6.25 crores. Along with Jasprit Burah, he is a regular in the Indian Test side. He has also made an impact while playing white-ball games for India. His best In the IPL has came for Punjab Kings taking 48 wickets in 50-odd games. With Gujarat now, Shami will be focusing on making an impactful performance to be included in India’s T20 World Cup squad later this year.
Lockie Ferguson
Shubman Gill spoke about the Kiwi pacer being Gujarat’s X-factor heading into IPL 2022. In the few games that he played for KKR, Lockie Ferguson made an impact with his pace and as a death bowler as well. The Kiwi pacer was roped in for 10 crores by the franchise and if he plays all the matches he can certainly be a candidate to win the Purple Cap for the Titans.
