Among the available Indian openers, Shikhar Dhawan is a name for whom almost all the franchises will bid big. He is amongst the highest run-getters in the IPL. Since joining the Delhi Capitals in 2019, he has scored 500 runs in every season and cumulatively, the southpaw has scored 1726 runs in the last three years scoring 12 fifties and two hundreds in the meantime.

He has also led an IPL franchise in the past and with RCB in need of a captain, he is a man the franchise can look out for. Dhawan ideally with open the batting with Virat Kohli if they play together.

Quinton De Kock

Quinton De Kock has played for RCB in 2018. However, due to his diminishing returns, he was released the following year. Mumbai Indians bagged him and he turned out to be a key player for them in two of their title-winning seasons in 2019 and 2020.

With De Kock out in the open market, the franchise can do a very good job if they manage to buy him. The franchise needs a keeper along with a reputed opener. The South African wicketkeeper-batsman can do both roles fittingly.

David Warner

Every franchise will go big to buy David Warner at the IPL auctions. Royal Challengers Bangalore must have him in their thoughts too. With AB De Villiers retiring from IPL cricket, the southpaw might just be the perfect man to replace him. He has scored the most runs in the IPL among the overseas players.

He along with Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell can for the core of the side on which the side can build their future. Warner who is a proven captain in the league also provides a leadership option for the franchise to look forward to. Given his record in the IPL and his form in recent white-ball games, David Warner might well become the most expensive player this IPL auction.
