The next edition of the IPL will have a total of 10 teams playing the tournament. For those of you who aren’t aware, two new teams, namely Lucknow and Ahmedabad have been added, which makes the tournament all the more exciting. The current eight teams have announced their list of retained players for the next edition. And the two new teams, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad are allowed to pick three players from the non-retained players.
The rest of the players will find themselves back into the auction pool. All the teams will rebuild their squad from scratch and therefore a mega-auction will take place, most likely in February next year. Given that there are 10 teams participating, the mega-auction is likely to be held across two days, much likely the 2018 Mega-Auctions.
Apart from world-class batsmen and bowlers, the franchises are likely to splurge a huge sum of money on spin all-rounders. There is no a denying that spin all-rounders add variety to the spin attack and also provide depth in the batting unit. India has an excellent pool of spin bowling all-rounders. Some of them will definitely cause a bidding war at the auctions. On that note, here’s a look at 5 Indian spin all-rounders who can fetch the highest bid:
IPL 2022 Auction: 5 Indian Spin All Rounders Who Can Fetch The Highest Bid
Ravi Ashwin

One of the best spinners in the current era of the game, Ravichandran Ashwin will find himself at the auction pool next year. Playing for Delhi Capitals, Ravi Ashwin didn’t have a great IPL 2021 season. In 13 matches, he managed to pick only 7 wickets at an average of 47.28.
However, his numbers don’t do justice to his potential with the ball. He has been a consistent performer in the cash-rich league over the years. Ashwin is India’s number one bowler in Test Cricket. On the back of his consistent performances, he was also drafted into India’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Ashwin was also part of the side in the T20 series against New Zealand.
His vast experience with the ball and ability to score runs with the bat while batting down the order makes him an ideal choice for the spin-bowling all-rounder for the teams. It shouldn’t come as a surprise if he ends up fetching the highest bid as the spin all-rounder.
Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar missed the second leg of the IPL 2021 due to a finger injury. RCB missed his all-round services throughout the second half of the tournament. Ahead of the mega-auctions, RCB didn’t retain Washington Sundar and thus the latter will once again go into the auction pool.
Sundar is known for his impeccable line, length, and speed. He bowls wicket-to-wicket and gives little room for the players to free their arms and play their shots. He is highly effective in the powerplay and also is a decent hitter with the bat.
Washington Sundar will once again be at the Auction Pool next year and he could get the highest big for an Indian spin all-rounder.
Krunal Pandya:

There is no denying that Krunal Pandya’s performances have seen a sharp dip in the last two years while playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL. In 29 matches played in the last two years, Pandya has only managed to pick 11 wickets.
However, the scarcity of Indian spin bowling all-rounders will help him in fetching big money at the auction. Despite his poor form, his ability to contribute in all facets of the game can help him a great deal. In his IPL career so far, Krunal Pandya has managed to pick 51 wickets with the ball and score 1143 runs with the bat.
Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia rose to prominence after hitting five sixes in a single over off Sheldon Cottrell during the 2020 edition of IPL. Since then, he became an integral cog for Rajasthan Royals in IPL. Rahul Tewatia bowled crucial overs in the middle overs and has played vital cameos in the slog overs while batting at lower down the order.
Tewatia picked 8 wickets in 14 matches last season and scored 521 runs at an average of 23.68. Unfortunately, he isn’t retained by Rajasthan Royals for the next season. The Indian spin all-rounder will find himself at the auction pool. Among all the spin all-rounders in the list, perhaps no one strikes the ball better than Rahul Tewatia. He has the ability to change the game in a matter of a few overs.
Tewatia is a good hitter of the ball and bowls at great lengths. Tewatia is certainly one of the contenders to get the highest bids at the auctions amongst the Indian all-rounders.
Krishnappa Gowtham

Indian spin-all rounder, Krishnappa Gowtham was sold to Chennai Super Kings for a whopping amount of 9.25 Crores in the 2021 IPL Auction. However, he didn’t play a single game for the franchise this season. Gowtham is an efficient off-spinner and an explosive lower middle-order batsman.
Krishnappa Gowtham’s explosive hitting with the bat and utility with the ball help in providing a balance to the team. Gowtham is, unarguably, one of the biggest assets for any team in T20 cricket. And, thus a lot of franchises are likely to show interest in his services.
Gowtham came to prominence during his stint with Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2018. He became a regular member in the playing since his first game. He played 14 matches during the 2018 edition of IPL and picked 11 wickets at an impressive economy of 7.80.
