The West Indian Test specialist registered himself at a base price of 1 crore. He is a good batsman and more than a handy bowler. However, these traits might not be enough for him to attract the bidders. Several other players in this category will fetch more attention from the franchise owners.

The Kiwi all-rounder played a few seasons in the IPL. He started with KKR in IPL 20217 and then joined Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2018 and was released after the 2019 IPL. He failed to make an impact in the IPL in his brief stay. His reputation as a big-hitter in the international arena might not force the bidders to go behind him. He is another player from this category who might remain unsold.

Faulkner was a regular in the IPL between 2011-2017. He played for several franchises in the meantime and came up with notable performances. However, he has fallen out of favour in the league for the last few years and it is difficult for him to make a return. He is currently playing the PSL but might find it difficult to get a bidder in the IPL.

Sams is an Australian all-rounder who has represented Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals in the IPL. However, for both the franchises he has not been a regular feature in the playing XI. Given that he is still an unknown commodity in the IPL, he might not interest the bidders to go behind him.

He played five matches between 2014-15 for RCB scoring a total of 53 runs. He has also fallen out of favour from the national cricket team. The southpaw played his last international match for South Africa back in 2016.
