Former England captain Michael Vaughan expressed his disappointment after seeing England leg-spinner Adil Rashid going unsold in the IPL 2022 mega auction.

Rashid, who has played 73 T20 Internationals for England men’s cricket team, played just one IPL match for Punjab Kings last year.

In the inaugural edition of the Men’s Hundred, Rashid claimed 12 wickets from seven matches for Nothern Superchargers to join Adam Milne, Marchant de Lange and Rashid Khan in the list of most wickets in the tournament.

After his stellar performance in the Hundred, IPL franchise Punjab Kings named Adil Rashid as the replacement of Australian pacer Jhye Richardson in the second leg of IPL 2021.

Rashid was taken to the cleaners by Rajasthan Royals youngsters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mahipal Lomror.

The leg-spinner yielded 35 runs from the three overs he bowled without taking any wicket in his first IPL match against Rajasthan Royals.

Just don’t understand why Adil Rashid doesn’t go for big bucks: Michael Vaughan

Rashid had set his base price for INR 2 crore but didn’t find any buyers in the IPL 2022 auction.

Just don’t understand why Adil Rashid doesn’t go for big bucks at the #IPL !!! One of the best T20 game changers yet still doesn’t get picked up !!!,” Vaughan tweeted.

England captain Eoin Morgan, Sam Billings, Dawid Malan, Chris Jordan, Alex Hales, David Willey and George Garton also went unsold in the mega auction from the England national team.

England speedsters Mark Wood and Jofra Archer made their way to Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians respectively.
