Senior Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has opined that the young Madhya Pradesh pacer Avesh Khan will trigger a big bidding war between the franchises at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 player auction list has already been announced and in total 590 cricketers have been shortlisted from the original list of 1214 players to go under the auction hammer on February 12 and 13 at Hotel ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru.

Amongst the 590 players, who have been shortlisted for the Indian Premier League 2022 auction, 228 are capped, 355 are uncapped and 7 belong to Associate Nations.
Meanwhile, the young Madhya Pradesh Avesh pacer had a sensational run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. He bagged 24 wickets in 16 games at an average of 18.75, an economy of 7.37 and a strike rate of 15.25. He finished as the second-highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
There is definitely going to be a bidding war for Avesh Khan – Ravichandran Ashwin

Veteran off-spinner Ashwin said that he is confident that there will be a bidding war to acquire the services of young pace bowler Avesh Khan for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Ashwin recalled the Indian Premier League 2010 auction, where Vijay Mallya fought with Chennai Super Kings to include him in the team and said that he can picture Parth Jindal and Kiran Rao engaged in a bidding war for Avesh.
“There is definitely going to be a bidding war for Avesh Khan. No doubt about that. Guarantee. Just like how Vijay Mallya fought for me with CSK in 2010, I can picture a Parth Jindal or a Kiran Rao fighting it out for Avesh Khan this year. With whom will they fight? Well, that might be any team,” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.

Notably, Avesh was not retained by Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of the Indian Premier League mega auction and he has set his base price as INR 20 lakh.
