IPL 2022 Auction: Aakash Chopra Predicts Most Expensive Indian Bowler, Spinner And Uncapped Player

Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has predicted the most expensive Indian bowler, spinner and uncapped player in the upcoming IPL 2022 mega auction. Indian players will he high on demand in the mega auction. A total of 590 players will go under the hammer out of which 370 are Indian players. Within that, there are 335 uncapped, 228 capped and seven players from the associate nations. 

Taking to Twitter, Aakash Chopra has predicted that Deepak Chahar will be the most expensive Indian bowler in the mega auction. He further said that Yuzvendra Chahal will be the most expensive spinner while Tamil Nadu cricketer Shahrukh Khan will be the most expensive uncapped Indian player.

Chahal has registered himself for 2 crores, while Chahar and Shahrukh Khan registered themselves for 40 lakhs in the IPL 2022 mega auction. In IPL 2021, he played 11 games for PBKS in which he scored 153 runs at an average of 21.9 and a strike rate of 134.2. Chahal and Chahar took 18 and 14 wickets respectively. 

In an earlier Youtube video from his IPL 2022 mega auction predictions, Aakash Chopra predicted that Deepak Chahar will be the most expensive Indian bowler in the auction. He gave justified reasons to explain the same as well. 

Chopra said that Chahar’s ability to take wickets in the powerplay makes him a hot pick at the auction. He is also a good bowler at the death as well limiting the runs down in the final overs.

“Firstly, he takes wickets with the new ball. There isn’t any Indian of this kind. You can think of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Warrier, Shivam Mavi…I didn’t even go with Harshal Patel, despite him picking 32 wickets last season to win the Purple Cap. But I feel probably he won’t cost that much,” he said on his YouTube channel.

Yuzvendra Chahal and Shahrukh Khan will also be on the wishlist of many teams. With the IPL auction presenting different dynamics, it will be interesting to see how much they get sold for.
