The IPL 2022 season was all about opportunities Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Tilak Verma, Rahul Tripathi, and Rajat Patidar are some of the Indian players who left an impact on the season. Among the foreign players, Shimron Hetmyer, Tim David, and Dewald Brevis are some of the names who took opportunities.
While a few good players were given consistent opportunities, a few of them were benched throughout the season or given games few and far between. It all came down to team combination for which many players especially the overseas ones had to kind of sacrifice their position.
In this article, we take a look at players who were benched almost throughout the season and should have played more games.
IPL 2022: Benched XI Of The Season Which Can Beat Any Team
Glenn Phillips
The Kiwi opener is one of the most promising T20 cricketers going around. He was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad but was not given too many games for the franchise as Kane Williamson held up one spot despite low returns.

Manan Vohra
After being benched for the entire season, Vohra played the knockout game against RCB in the Eliminator. As it turned out, the pressure got to him and he was not able to deliver. Vohra was once a regular in the IPL for Kings XI Punjab.
Tim Seifert
Seifert is another Kiwi batter who plays freelance T20 cricket all over the world. However, playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022, Seifert played a few initial games and once David Warner came, he warmed the bench for DC.
Yash Dhull
Dhull, the former India U-19 skipper was signed up by Delhi Capitals. However, he failed to find a place in the XI given the competition within the squad.
Arjun Tendulkar
There were talks of Arjun Tendulkar getting his much-deserved IPL break with Mumbai Indians this season. However, that did not happen as he sat on the sidelines for the second season straight.
Mohammad Nabi
KKR picked up the former Afghanistan skipper for 1 crore but he was not given a game. Strangely KKR had as many as 21 players playing for them this year but still, there was no place for Nabi. He might be released next year as KKR will look to get some key players.
Raj Angad Bawa
Another India U-19 player, who came into this IPL with a huge reputation but did not get the game time he deserved. Baw batted and bowled with potential in the T20 World Cup but could not show any of that this IPL season.
Rajvardhan Hangargekar
The CSK management said that they did not want to expose Hangargekar before he was ready with full potential. They further said that he is a part of their plans for the future.
Siddarth Kaul
Kaul played just one match for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season. He spoke so fondly about playing alongside Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis in the IPL but that did not happen.
Lungi Ngidi
Probably the biggest namer to be benched throughout the season is South Africa???s Lungi Ngidi. He was a regular feature when he played for CSK but Delhi Capitals were not able to use his the best way after roping him in.
