Chennai Super Kings (CSK) face off against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the opening game of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. Both teams played the final of IPL 2021 with CSK beating KKR to win their fourth IPL title. This match is thus a rematch of the IPL 2021 final with KKR having a chance to return the favour.

The IPL 2022 will be a 10-team event with two new franchises being added into the IPL fold. Lucknow and Gujarat are the two new franchises that will be a part of the IPL from the 2022 season. Ashwin played for CSK between 2008 to 2014 and in the meantime picked up 16 wickets against the franchise. Ashwin then went on to play for a few other franchises in the IPL but his best was with the Men in Yellow. He took 90 wickets in 97 games for CSK while he was with the side.

Ravindra Jadeja – 18 Wickets In 27 Matches

The southpaw is the next best CSK bowler against KKR. He has taken 18 wickets with the ball and scored almost 400 runs with the bat against the two-time IPL champions. His batting has hurt KKR more than his bowling. His knocks include a few cameos that he played from impossible situations to help his side beat Kolkata.

Dwayne Bravo – 18 Wickets In 18 Matches

Bravo has taken 18 wickets in 18 matches against KKR which is a wicket per game. Bravo also has a half-century to his name against the side. Together Bravo and Jadeja has jolted KKR time and again from situations from where they would have favoured winning against the four-time IPL champions.
