IPL 2022: I Am In Touch With Deepak Chahar Regularly And He Guides Me A Lot - Mukesh Choudhary
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pace bowler Mukesh Choudhary has revealed that Deepak Chahar has been helping him behind the scenes during the ongoing IPL 2022 season.
Chahar was ruled out of the tournament without playing a game because of his bouts with injuries. However, the 29-year-old has ensured that he has an impact nonetheless, constantly guiding Choudhary in his early days.
The 25-year-old left-arm pacer Choudhary, debuted this season and has taken 11 wickets in 8 matches played. He has tried his best to replicate Chahar’s performances in the powerplay by taking wickets frequently.
“Deepak Bhai has played and performed for CSK for quite some time now. He is an amazing bowler. I am in touch with him regularly and he guides me a lot. He has told me how to analyze the situation and what to bowl in a particular situation.”
“In the initial matches of the tournament, I didn’t do well. Deepak Bhai called and gave me tips. He told me what I lack and how I can improve. From there on, I started getting results,” Choudhary told in an exclusive chat with TimesofIndia.com.
“When I claimed 4 wickets against Sunrisers, he called and praised me” – Mukesh Choudhary
Choudhary produced his best performance in CSK’s most recent game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The tall pacer took 4 wickets in his first 3 overs, pretty much putting CSK in the driver’s seat during SRH’s run chase of 203.
“When I claimed 4 wickets against Sunrisers, he called and praised me. He said well done, keep up the good work. He said – ‘keep your eye on the batsman and listen to Mahi Bhai’s instructions’. He has helped me a lot. Honestly, I was under pressure, but Deepak Bhai’s words have encouraged me a lot,” Choudhary added.
