IPL 2022: Kolkata Knight Riders Fast Bowler Rasikh Salam Ruled Out Of The Tournament, Replacement Announced
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) confirmed on Friday that their young pacer Rasikh Salam has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season.
Salam sustained a lower back injury during KKR’s previous game against Delhi Capitals (DC), which they lost by 44 runs. Ahead of Friday’s game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Salam has been ruled out of the tournament.
He will now be replaced by Harshit Rana. He was bought by KKR at his base price of INR 20 lakhs. Salam played in two matches for KKR and bowled four overs in total.
“Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed fast bowler Harshit Rana as a replacement for pacer Rasikh Salam for the rest of the TATA IPL 2022 season. Salam, who played 2 games for KKR this season, has been ruled out owing to a lower back injury and will take no further part in the tournament. His replacement, Harshit Rana, from Delhi will join KKR at his base price of INR 20 Lakh,” the statement from IPL’s official website read.
He had economical figures of 0/18 in 3 overs against Mumbai Indians (MI) but could only bowl one over against Delhi before having to walk off the field due to the aforementioned injury.
KKR is sitting in second place on the points table having won 3 out of 5 matches so far. They will have a chance to go to the top of the IPL 2022 points table when they take on SRH at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
