Former Indian player Mohammad Kaif shared a funny incident of Marcus Stoinis during his time at Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. Stoinis joined Delhi Capitals in 2020 and played with them for two seasons until IPL 2021.

Stoinis brought balance to Delhi Capitals’ team with his all-round abilities, he scored 352 runs striking 148.52 and picked 13 wickets in IPL 2020. However, the Australian all-rounder couldn’t replicate his magnificent performance last year as he managed 89 runs in 10 games and returned with just a couple of wickets.

Stoinis was released along with a bunch of star players by Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. Kaif, who was the franchise’s assistant coach last year, revealed that Stoinis would be the last player from the squad to come just before the bus would depart and head coach Ricky Ponting had to wait for him.

“Last to the team bus was Marcus Stoinis. With a coffee mug in his hand, he used to come running and used to be dot on time. He always used to make Ricky Ponting wait and used to be just on time,” Kaif told Sportskeeda.
