The IPL 2022 saw the addition of two new teams both of whom made the playoffs. They played an attacking and competitive brand of cricket with their respective captains leading from the front. The 10-team IPL season opened up many new horizons for the players.

Several uncapped Indian players rose to the occasion as well with Umran Malik and Tilak Varma the nominal names. The IPL has continued to throw domestic and international talents which makes the tournament get bigger and bigger every year. So far over 1500 four have been hit in the season and in this article, we take a look at the top five batters with most fours in IPL 2022.

5) Shikhar Dhawan – 45 Fours

Punjab Kings opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan sits fifth on this list with 45 fours to his name so far. With one game to go, the southpaw has scored 421 runs in the season and made a case for his inclusion in the T20 World Cup squad.

4) Faf du Plessis – 46 Fours

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis sits fourth in this list with 46 fours to his name. He is also RCB’s highest run-getter with 443 runs so far. He can add to his list only if Mumbai beats Delhi so that Banglore can advance through to the playoffs.

3) Quinton de Kock – 47 Fours

The South African keeper-batsman is fresh of an unbeaten 140 against KKR. That brought him into the list of top-run-getters also in the list of most fours and sixes hit. So far in the season, he has scored 502 runs and also has the highest individual score this season so far.

2) David Warner – 51 Fours

The Australian opener is one of the two cricketers with over 50 fours in the season so far. So far in the season, he has scored 427 runs. He has to contribute massively in Delhi’s last league game against Mumbai for them to advance through to the playoffs.

1) Jos Buttler – 56 Fours

The Rajasthan Royals opener is topping every batting chart at the moment. He has scored the most runs and hit the most sixes and fours in the season so far. His team reached the playoffs after beating CSK in their last league game. Buttler has scored just over 100 runs in the last seven matches and needs to get back into form during the playoffs.
