The IPL 2022 season has seen some electrifying matches being played so far. Three teams Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals have made it to the playoffs. The match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians will decide who among DC and RCB will be the fourth team to make the playoffs.

The cricket played this year has been next level. Many matches have gone down right to the wire and many among them have been last-ball finishes. All the teams played their best cricket and the teams still alive in the contest have been the teams to watch out for. In this article, we take a look at the top five fastest fifties of the season so far.

5) Jonny Bairstow – 21 Balls vs RCB, Brabourne

Bairstow has been a regular feature of the Kings XI Punjab line-up since being available for them. He scored the fifth-fastest half-century of the season as he scored a crucial 66 in Punjab’s win against RCB. His blitz at the top helped Punjab post a score of 209/ 9 which proved a little too much for RCB.

4) Rahul Tripathi – 21 Balls vs KKR, Brabourne

Tripathi also scored a fifty of 21 balls vs KKR in a 176-run chase against his former side. He scored 71 off 37 balls, in the end, to take his side home by 8 wickets. Tripathi has scored 393 runs in 13 games for SRH so far in IPL 2022.

3) Liam Livingstone – 21 Balls vs GT, Brabourne

Livingstone scored his fifty off 21 balls against Gujarat Titans in a losing cause. He scored 64 off 27 deliveries to help Punjab post 189/9 batting first. Rahul Tewatia hit consecutive sixes in the last over to win a nail-biting thriller for the Titans.

2) Moeen Ali – 19 Balls vs RR, Brabourne

The English all-rounder scored the second-fastest fifty of the season off just 19 balls against Rajasthan Royals. He eventually scored 93 out of the 150/5 CSK posted batting first. He clobbered 13 fours and three sixes ad scored those runs at a strike rate of 163.16. However, the knock wasn’t enough for CSK to win their last game of the season as The Royals went through to the playoffs.

1) Pat Cummins – 14 Balls vs MI, Pune

The fastest fifty of the season belongs to KKR’s Pat Cummins who scored 56 off just 15 balls to help KKR chase down 162 inside 16 overs. His. knock included a 35-run over from his Australian teammate Daniel Sams. Cummins maintained a strike rate of 373.33 which is the highest for batsmen who scored a fifty in the season so far. KKR eventually were knocked out of the season after losing their last league game to LSG in the final over of the match.
