IPL 2022: Updated Points Table, Orange Cap And Purple Cap After Match 50 DC vs SRH

The 50th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) was played between Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, May 5.

Delhi Capitals won their 5th match of the Indian Premier League 2022 by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 21 runs in the match.

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to field first in the match. SRH made three huge changes to the playing XI as Kartik Tyagi, Shreyas Gopal and Sean Abbott replaced T Natarajan, Washington Sundar and Marco Jansen.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals made four huge changes to the playing XI as Anrich Nortje, Khaleel Ahmed, Ripal Patel and Mandeep Singh replaced Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakariya, Axar Patel and Prithvi Shaw in the team.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar opened the attack for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Delhi Capitals’ new opening pair of David Warner and Mandeep Singh. Bhuvneshwar dismissed Mandeep for a duck and bowled a wicket-maiden.

Sean Abbott got the second breakthrough by dismissing Mitchell Marsh for 10 in the 5th over and Kartik Tyagi conceded 11 runs in the 6th over. At the end of the powerplay, Delhi Capitals were at 50/2.

After the strategic timeout, Rishabh Pant accelerated the innings in the 9th over but after smashing 22 runs in 4 balls he got dismissed for 26 by Shreyas Gopal.

Delhi Capitals completed 100 runs in 10.6 overs and David Warner completed 50 off 34 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes.

In the end, DC opener David Warner and West Indies powerhouse Rovman Powell added 122 runs off 66 balls to help Delhi Capitals score 207 runs.

Warner’s amazing innings ended at 92 runs off 58 balls, including 12 fours and 3 sixes. Rovman Powell scored incredible 67 runs off 35 including 3 fours and 6 sixes.

Chasing the target, Sunrisers Hyderabad were off to a poor start as they lost both the openers early on in the innings as Abhishek Sharma scored 7 runs and Kane Williamson scored 5 runs.

Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran added brilliant 65 runs together before the former was cleaned up by Khaleel Ahmed in the 13th over.

In the end, Nicholas Pooran played an amazing 62 runs knock off 34 balls, including 2 fours and 6 sixes before getting dismissed by Shardul Thakur in the 18th over and SRH were handed over their 5th defeat of the season.

Updated IPL 2022 Points Table After Match 50 Between Delhi Capitals And Sunrisers Hyderabad:

Before the match, DC were at the 7th spot in the points table with 4 wins and 5 defeats in 9 outings and SRH were at the 5th spot with 5 wins and 4 defeats in 9 outings. Now DC have moved to the No.5 spot and SRH have slipped to the No.6 position in the standings.

Updated Orange Cap List:

David Warner after his incredible performance against his ex-team has jumped to the No.4 spot in the list of highest run-getters and other than that there have been no major changes in the orange cap table.

Updated Purple Cap List:

Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has once again climbed to the No.2 spot in the list of leading wicket-takers after picking a wicket in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
