IPL 2022: We Are In That Transition Phase, Every Team Goes Through That - Jasprit Bumrah On MI's Poor Start To Season

Mumbai Indians (MI) lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah believes that his team is currently in a transition phase following the mega auction and will take a while to settle down and get comfortable.

So far, MI has lost all four of its matches in the IPL 2022 season. It has mostly come down to the lack of experience in the bowling department barring Bumrah and the underperformance of the skipper, Rohit Sharma.

“We are going through that. We are looking forward that we go through this transition, and then we have all the players we had and the quality will come back again,” Bumrah said.

Despite the poor start, MI is far from being discouraged. They are known as slow starters and there has been an instance when they have gone on to win the title (2015) after losing their first four games.

“Right now, we live in the present. Yes, things have not gone according to plan so far, but we keep on fighting and we keep on finding a way. That is the way the game of cricket works. Whenever a challenge comes, you try to find solutions to the challenge and we are trying to do that.”

“This year when the wickets are helping the batters and it’s difficult to take wickets, you have to find your ways. We are no different. We are trying to find new ways. We’ve come up with a few plans,” Bumrah further added.

Notably, most of the games so far have seen the toss play a crucial part. Chasing is far easier in night games since the dew settles in and Bumrah is wary of it.
