An incident involving Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Rinku Singh and on-field umpire Anil Kumar Chaudhary took place in the 61st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 as the batter was arguing with the umpire after getting denied for a DRS.
The 61st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is being played between Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Meanwhile, the drama took place on the 4th ball of the 12th over, which was bowled by left-arm pacer T Natarajan, when Rinku Singh was on strike and wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings was at the non-striker’s end.
T Natarajan delivered a brilliant inswinging yorker from over the wicket that dipped and crashes into the toe of Rinku Singh and the on-field umpire Anil Kumar Chaudhary took his time before signalling it out LBW.
After 15 seconds the timer came down to zero while the Kolkata Knight Riders batters Rinku Singh and Sam Billings were discussing whether to take a DRS or not. The on-field umpire soon signalled the time is up.
However, Rinku Singh was arguing with the umpire after getting denied for a DRS and he kept demanding for a review after the 15 seconds were up.
Notably, it looked like Sam Billings had signalled the umpire for a review but it was not accepted because the rule says the batter on the strike has to signal for a DRS.
The KKR players kept having discussions with the umpires but they were denied for a DRS. Even head coach Brendon McCullum had a word with the fourth umpire at the boundary.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders openers Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane were able to add only 17 runs together as the former was cleaned by Marco Jansen in the second over. However, Nitish Rana’s aggressive intent in the powerplay helped KKR score 55/1. At the time of writing, KKR were at 123/5 with Andre Russell and Sam Billings out in middle.
