Lucknow Super Giants take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2022 Eliminator at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 25. The side qualified for the playoffs after beating KKR in their last league game, They were placed third on the points table and thus will play the Eliminator to advance ahead.
What’s worked for Lucknow Super Giants is that their openers have scored runs up at the top of the order. This was the issue with many teams during the course of the season, but LSG found a way to score. They added the highest opening partnership against KKR (210).
Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan, Jason Holder, and Dushmanta Chameera have been key with the ball sharing the majority of the wickets between themselves. They won a close game against KKR and will ideally back the same side to win them the Eliminator as well. In this article, we take a look at LSG’s predicted playing XI against RCB for the knockout game.
LSG vs RCB: Lucknow Super Giants’ Predicted Playing XI Against Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL 2022 Eliminator
KL Rahul
Rahul is fresh off an unbeaten 68 off 51 balls. He is second on the run-getters list with 537 runs so far in the season. The LSG captain will need to play a big knock if his side hopes of advancing ahead in the playoffs.

Quinton de Kock
De Kock is this on the list with 502 runs in IPL 2022 so far. He also has the highest individual score this season. The South African wicket-keeper batsman will open the batting alongside KL Rahul and would like to add to his tally.
Deepak Hooda
Hooda has been a revelation at number three for Lucknow Super Giants. This is by far his best season in the IPL scoring 406 runs and counting. He has been the glue in LSG’s middle-order.
Evin Lewis
Lewis plucked a blinder against KKR to swing the match LSG’s way in their last league game. He did not get his chance with the bat in that game. However, he might be required in the Eliminator and he will bat at number four. Lewis has already won LSG one game with the bat.
Krunal Pandya
Pandya can replace Manan Vohra in the LSG playing XI. He gives them an extra option with the ball and can tonk his bat as well. Keeping team combination in mind, Pandya is a better pick than Vohra.
Marcus Stoinis
Stoinis who was picked in a draft by Lucknow Super Giants before the season started has not fired with the bat yet. With the ball too he has been under par. He needs to raise his game in the Eliminator.
Jason Holder
The West Indian all-rounder has delivered when it mattered most for LSG. Though not consistently, he has picked up wickets at key intervals of the game. He should retain his place in the XI given his experience of playing international cricket.
Krishnappa Gowtham
Gowtham played in place of Ayush Badoni in the last game against KKR. He picked up one wicket in the game. Given that he is an off-spinner who bats, he might get the edge over Badoni once again.
Mohsin Khan
The left-arm pacer has been one of the finds of this IPL. He has deceptive pace which was on the show very properly in the two games against KKR. He has picked 13 wickets in 8 games so far and would like to add to the tally.
Avesh Khan
Khan has been the highest wicket-taker for LSG in IPL 2022, with 17 wickets to his name. Together with Mohsin, the duo has picked up 30 wickets. Avesh should look forward to bowling at Eden Gardens where he made his T20I debut.
Ravi Bishnoi
The leggie completes a formidable-looking Lucknow Super Giants playing XI that should ideally take the park against RCB in the Eliminator. If they play to their potential, they can beat RCB.
