Dinesh Karthik has perfected his finishing skills for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022. In six games so far this season, he has already scored 197 runs at a strike rate of nearly 210 and he has been dismissed only once. Virat Kohli had huge praise for him after he played a huge role in RCB beating Delhi Capitals.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are placed fourth in the points table at the moment and will face Lucknow Super Giants in their next game on Tuesday, April 19. Ahead of the game, AB de Villiers praised the veteran Indian cricketer for the way he has played this season so far. There are already talks of including him in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup later this year.

Speaking to VU Sport Official’s Twitter handle, de Villiers said that he was impressed with what he saw of Dinesh Karthik so far and was specifically impressed with his 360-degree play and he said that he was his high-risk high-reward player.

“Dinesh Karthik, the form he is in at the moment. He has won RCB two of three games already and looks in the form of his life. I don’t know where that comes from,” said de Villiers.

Praising Karthik’s ability to play 360 degrees, ABD said “Man, he looks in good form. He plays around the wicket – 360°. He almost makes me feel like I wanna go and play some cricket again watching him play”.

When asked if he expected Dinesh Karthik to perform as well as he has done this season, De Villiers said that he was “incredibly surprised”.

“Not at all, I am incredibly surprised. I didn’t expect it. I always knew that he busy player, he likes the hard-pressure situations but has not played a lot of cricket.

“Before the last IPL I saw his doing commentary in the UK, he wasn’t really playing a lot of domestic cricket. I thought he was nearing the end of his career but he has surprised us all,” de Villiers concluded saying.

A win for RCB against LSG can take them to 10 points and get them on par with Gujarat Titans in the points table.
