In IPL 2022, Aakash Chopra has challenged the Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) decision to continuously shuffle their batting order.

In a match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, LSG put Krunal Pandya, Deepak Hooda, and Ayush Badoni before Marcus Stoinis and Jason Holder despite chasing a 182-run target (RCB). Stoinis and Holder were left with too much to do as a consequence, and they lost the game by 18 runs.

He had this to comment regarding Krunal Pandya, who was promoted to the starting lineup:

“The batting order for Lucknow is more adaptable than that of gymnasts. Krunal Pandya was sent here, which was a good decision since Wanindu Hasaranga would be in the middle, Maxi (Maxwell) was bowling, and the ball was stopping a little.”

“Krunal was doing a fantastic job with the bat. Krunal Pandya is an excellent batsman who performed admirably when given the opportunity.”

Surprised by the Lucknow Super Giants’ call to hold back Stoinis: Aakash Chopra

The Lucknow Super Giants’ decision to keep Stoinis on the bench stunned Aakash.

Aakash Chopra continued, “Deepak Hooda is next, followed by Ayush Badoni. You sent everyone, and Marcus Stoinis is next. He has been sent to lower down the order, which is beyond my comprehension. He started hitting, but the players on the other end were already finished.”

Holder’s batting position was again criticized by Aakash Chopra. He stated, “The key isn’t that he got to bat in the 15th over; you also need someone at the other end who can hit sixes. Then you mailed Holder after everything was finished.”

“He hit well as well, but the batting order is constantly changing. I’m not a fan of strategic pursuits; you’ll win this conflict from the front, not the back.”

Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs in IPL 2022 Match 31 thanks to captain Faf du Plessis and Australian pacer Josh Hazelwood’s outstanding performances.
