Mark Wood Bought By Lucknow Super Giants For INR 7.5 Crores In IPL 2022 Mega Auction

England’s express pacer Mark Wood was snapped by the new franchise, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for INR 7.5 crores in the ongoing IPL 2022 mega auction on Saturday.
Wood hadn’t played in the IPL 2021 season but enlisted himself in this year’s auction at a base price of INR 2 crores. Delhi Capitals and LSG opened the bidding and took the price up to INR 7 crores.

Mumbai Indians (MI) tried to put their hat into the ring after some deliberation and came up with a bid of INR 7.25 crores. However, LSG was adamant about having Wood on board and they went up further to INR 7.5 cr which was the final bid.
Wood was previously part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) back in 2018 when he was bought for INR 1.5 crores. His performances since then have ensured that the pacer will be walking away from as a millionaire from the auction.

The speedster is one of the fastest bowlers going around in world cricket at the moment. If he can develop a nasty slower ball, the 32-year-old will become a reliable weapon in the shortest format of the game.
