MI vs LSG: Twitter Reacts As LSG Hold Their Nerve To Inflict 6th Consecutive Defeat On MI
Updated - 16 Apr 2022, 10:03 PM
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) subjected Mumbai Indians (MI) to further misery, defeating them in their day encounter to inflict a 6th consecutive defeat on Rohit Sharma and co. in the IPL 2022 season.
After being asked to bat first, Lucknow rode on their opening partnership of 52 between KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock. The latter took charge initially before the skipper began dominating the proceedings.
In the company of Manish Pandey, Rahul built a strong platform for LSG to set up a strong total. In the process, he scored his 3rd century in the IPL and the second as the captain of a franchise. On the back of his knock, Lucknow ended up setting a target of 200 for Mumbai.
Having had a poor run in the IPL so far, Rohit was hoping to come back to form but he was undone by the impressive Avesh Khan. MI’s 15 cr recruit, Ishan Kishan, failed once again and the onus was on Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav to rebuild.
The duo did exactly that, keeping Mumbai afloat in the steep run chase. Suryakumar wasn’t in his usual elements but he was effective nonetheless. Unfortunately, his untimely dismissal meant Kieron Pollard had to shoulder the run chase in the company of the tail.
He tried his best with a quickfire cameo but the total was too high a mountain for the 5-time champions to climb. With that defeat, they now have lost 6 games in a row for the first time in their history.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to MI vs LSG:
