PBKS vs LSG: I Have Been Bowling Well For The Last 7-8 Months - Krunal Pandya After Winning MoTM vs PBKS
Lucknow Super Giants defended yet another low total as they won their 2nd consecutive game defending a total in Tata IPL 2022. They managed only 153 runs on the board against Punjab Kings here at the MCA Stadium on Friday. But won the game courtesy of a brilliant bowling performance by their team. At the forefront of their great bowling performance was all-rounder Krunal Pandya.
Krunal Pandya bowled a brilliant spell of 4 overs for 11 runs and took 2 important wickets of Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Jitesh Sharma. His spell also included a maiden over. For his brilliant bowling, he was awarded the player of the match.
Batting Is Close To My Heart, I Hope To Contribute With The Bat In Future: Krunal Pandya
Although Pandya bowled a brilliant spell he could not contribute much with the bat. He was sent up the order from his usual position but in trying to go hard at Kagiso Rabada he gave a straight catch to Shikhar Dhawan in the deep. He could only manage 7 runs off 7 balls.
Despite, his poor performance with the bat, he didn’t let his innings impact his bowling as he bowled a brilliant spell to give his side important breakthroughs at crucial stages of the game.
“I have been bowling well. For the last 7-8 months, I have been working hard. Special mention to Rahul Sanghvi. The results everyone can see as I have tried to improve my skills. A lot of times when you are playing shorter formats you don’t realize a lot of things. I have been trying to increase my height with my release and some things on my grip. I took Rahul Sanghvi’s help and it has worked”, Pandya said about his improvement in bowling this season in the post-match presentation.
He was criticised last year for his poor form with the ball with MI but since then he has made a strong comeback and has worked a lot on his bowling.
On his batting, he said, “Batting is slightly close to my heart. I haven’t been contributing much with the bat but it is a long tournament and going forward I will look to contribute with the bat.”
LSG would hope that Pandya continues to contribute with both bat and ball for the side as he is a vital member of their XI.
