Former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha feels the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team could take motivation from the performances of IPL 2022 Match No. 66. On Wednesday, May 18, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) played a fascinating match.
The KL Rahul-led team won by two runs in the last game at DY Patil Stadium, eliminating the two-time champions.
The RCB’s low net run rate is also concerning. To just get their net run rate into positive digits, the three-time finalists must either win by 80 runs or chase the target in 10 overs against GT.
During the same interview, former wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel stressed that RCB must win by a large margin:
“Because their net tun rate is now negative, they must not only win but also win by a large margin. That, I believe, will put them under a lot of strain. They are also on a higher level. GT will not expect anything to change simply because they have qualified; instead, they will concentrate on building momentum. They’ll have a different kind of energy when they play.”
‘RCB can take inspiration from KKR’s approach’: Pragyan Ojha
On Thursday, May 19, RCB will meet league leaders Gujarat Titans (GT) in their final league encounter. The team coached by Faf du Plessis will have to grind out a win. They’ll next need on the Delhi Capitals’ last game against the Mumbai Indians to ensure their third consecutive postseason appearance.
On Cricbuzz, Pragyan Ojha remarked that RCB may take inspiration from the way KKR handled the challenging aim of 211:
“RCB should watch the highlights of LSG against KKR because it will inspire them to believe that anything may happen” Pragyan Ojha Said.
On May 19, the Faf du Plessis-led side will face GT at Wankhede Stadium (Thursday).
