Kohli’s batting form has been the talking point in the IPL 2022, the former RCB skipper aggregates 216 runs in 12 innings at 19.64 and a strike rate of 111.34.

Kohli recorded the sixth golden duck of his IPL career, his third in this season and second against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last game.

Virat Kohli’s dismal form in IPL 2022 continued against SRH

After winning the toss, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis elected to bat first in a much-needed win. On the very first ball of the innings, Kohli flicked Jagadeesha Suchith’s delivery to short midwicket, where Kane Williamson took an easy catch.

However, du Plessis and Rajat Patidar stitched 105 runs for the third wicket to propel RCB to 192/3 in the first innings. They eventually won by 65 runs as Wanindu Hasaranga claimed 5/18 and SRH were bowled out for 125 in 19.2 overs.

Forget your age, forget what you have done: Michael Vaughan’s advice to Virat Kohli

Vaughan advised Kohli to go 10 years down the memory lane when he was a rising star of the Indian team and wore a tremendous amount of enthusiasm to score runs.

“I hope Faf du Plessis has spoken to him and told him – ‘Go back 10 years, when you didn’t have this profile. You’re not married and don’t have a kid. You’re going out there to whack the ball and have some fun. Forget your age, forget what you have done’,” Vaughan said on Cribuzz.

“If he gets to 35, I reckon he can go big. It’s just those initial 0-10 that he’s been struggling with. If he can get away and show a little bit of that youthfulness, he’s going to be dangerous,” he added.

RCB are currently placed fourth in the IPL 2022 points table with 14 points in 12 games and victories in the remaining two fixtures will easily guarantee them playoffs spot.

RCB will meet Punjab Kings on Friday (May 13) in their race to IPL 2022 playoffs as the season comes to its business end.
