IPL 2022: Robin Uthappa Silences Pakistani Journalist Who Tried To Compare PSL And IPL

Robin Uthappa was rebought by Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He played the last few matches for CSK in IPL 2021 including the final against his former franchise KKR. Uthappa is one of the highest run-getters in the IPL and will be playing another season for the four-time IPL champions.

On Friday, Match 18, Uthappa took to his Twitter hander to respond to a Pakistani journalist who tried to compare the PSL and the IPL. The comparison has gained weight after PSL 2022 was a big success with Lahore Qalandars winning their maiden title.

Taking to Twitter a Pakistani journalist Arfa Feroz Zake wrote “No comparison between PSL and IPL! PSL started in 2016 while IPL inaugurated in 2008. However one has to admit PSL gained worldwide popularity more quicker in an era when other boards had introduced their leagues too whereas there was no competitor in the market when IPL was born”.

‘IPL Created The Market’ Said Robin Uthappa

Robin Uthappa came up with a four-word response to the journalist’s tweet saying “IPL created the market”

IPL 2022 kicks off from March 26 with CSK taking on KKR in the opening game of the season at the Wankhede stadium. It is a rematch of the IPL 2021 final. CSK beat KKR to win their fourth IPL title. KKR now has a chance to avenge that defeat.
