Except for Shimron Hetmyer, practically all of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) batsmen struggled inside the middle during last night’s IPL 2022 match against the Lucknow Super Giants, as per Aakash Chopra.

In the first ten overs of their innings, RR ambled to a score of 67/4. Hetmyer’s spectacular knock, though, helped them to a battling total of 165/6, which they finally won by three runs.

The Rajasthan Royals’ leading hitters were eliminated cheaply, as per Aakash Chopra. He went on to say:

“If you look at RR’s scenario, whether that was Buttler or Samson, it was a struggle from the start. Devdutt Padikkal did play for a short period, but he also left. Rassie van der Dussen is also allowed to leave.”

While praising the LSG bowlers’ early performances, the Aakash Chopra stated that the match may have gone in a different direction if Krunal Pandya had held on to Hetmyer’s delivery. Pandya dropped Hetmyer after he had scored a run-a-ball 14. The southpaw made LSG pay for his blunder, bowling an undefeated 59 off just 36 deliveries.

Aakash Chopra on Ashwin’s retiring out:

R Ashwin’s retirement from the Rajasthan Royals, according to Aakash Chopra, was a historic choice. He stated, ”

“They dispatched c to bat first. Ashwin also blasted two sixes against Krishnappa Gowtham, but then something momentous happened: he retired from the game. I believe he was summoned from the outside, as he stated that he was leaving and that Riyan Parag would come and bat.”

“It may not have made a significant difference in the overall score, but it was a significant moment because you de-stigmatized the taboo of not retiring someone. In my perspective, it is completely right.”

Rajasthan Royals will play their next match against Gujarat Titans on April 14 at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
