Mumbai Indians lost the first game between the two sides earlier in the season. Their last defeat was against Lucknow Super Giants with KL Rahul scoring his second ton of this season. Mumbai have just not found a way to win and everything that they have tried on the field has not worked to their advantage.

Kishan’s hefty price tag has indeed given him the pressure to perform and he has not been able to stand up to that pressure. After scoring two back-to-back fifties he has lost his form completely. So far he has scored 199 runs in the first 8 games.

Dewald Brevis

Brevis has impressed everyone in the matches that he has played so far. He has scored 124 runs from six games but has failed to contribute in the last two consecutive games. He scored 4 against CSK and three against LSG.

SKY has looked like the only Mumbai Indians batsman in form along with Tilak Varma. They have been key in helping Mumbai Indians get to some score of respectability. He needs to keep going for his side.

The southpaw is eighth on the run-scoring list with 254 runs, He has looked solid and also has found a way to score in the middle overs. He has formed key partnerships sith SKY in the previous games and would like to replicate the same.

Kieron Pollard

Pollard’s wretched form has been the story of Mumbai Indians so far in IPL 2022. HE has found himself in favorable situations to win the game for his side but has failed to do that this season. He will look to score some runs in the remainder of the tournament.

Daniel Sams / Tim David

Sams has come back with the ball better since being taken to the cleaners by Pat Cummins. Against LSG, he went for 40 and took just a solitary wicket. There is also a case for Mumbai giving a few games to Tim David now that they are out of the tournament and can experiment.

Jaydev Unadkat / Basil Thampi

Unadkat has struggled so far for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022. He bowled the over against CSK and MS Dhoni which came as a dagger to the franchise, He went for 36 off his spell and returned wicketless. Mumbai can look to bring back Basil Thampi in his pace as he can be a handful with his extra pace.

Hrithik Shokeen

The youngster has impressed one and all in the few opportunities that he has got. Against LSG, he bowled two overs for 11 runs but did not get his opportunity with the bat. He should be backed for a few more games in the season.

Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah has taken five wickets with the ball so far in IPL 2022. His lack of form has been of the key reasons why Mumbai Indians have struggled this season. After taking nearly 50 wickets in the last two seasons, Bumrah seems to have lost his magic this season. He will be hoping for a comeback in the remaining half of the season.

Riley Meredith

Meredith concludes the possible playing XI Mumbai Indians will look to field against Rajasthan Royals. He took 2/40 against LSG in Mumbai’s last game.
