Twitter Reacts As Ishan Kishan Becomes Second Most Expensive Indian Player In IPL Auction History

Young Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan became the most expensive player at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction, which is being held at the Hotel ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru.
Ishan Kishan was not retained by Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction as the franchises were allowed to retain a maximum of 4 players and MI retained Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard.

Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan had set INR 2 crore as his base price and many experts predicted that he will be the most expensive player in this year’s auction.
Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians started the bidding process for Ishan Kishan and soon Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad joined the party. However, Mumbai Indians were in no mood to lose Ishan Kishan and they went all out and bought him for INR 15.25 crore.
This is the first time Mumbai Indians have paid more than INR 10 crore for a player and with that Ishan Kishan became the second most expensive Indian player in the history of the Indian Premier League auction. He is just behind all-rounder Yuvraj Singh who was sold for INR 16 crore.
