IPL 2021: DC vs SRH- Delhi Capitals’ Predicted Playing XI Against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Delhi Capitals has little to worry about as far as their playoffs qualification for IPL 2021 is concerned. They have secured 6 wins in 8 matches this year. Rishabh Pant and Co. need two more wins in 6 matches to confirm their playoff berth.

Delhi, however, would be wanting to win all 6 games and finish at the number one position on the points table at the end of the league stage matches. Delhi Capitals will resume their IPL 2021 campaign with an exciting clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

On that note, here’s a look at our predicted playing XI of Delhi Capitals against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw were the standout batsmen for Delhi Capitals during the India leg of IPL 2021. Both have aggregated the most number of runs as an opening pair this season. Dhawan currently leads the batting chart with 380 runs in 8 matches at an average of 54.29. On the other hand, Prithvi Shaw has managed to score 308 runs in 8 matches at an average of 38.50. Both are in supreme form with the bat and the franchise would hope they continue their form in the upcoming matches as well.

Middle-Order: Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer

Shreyas Iyer has recovered from his shoulder injury and will be available for the second leg of IPL 2021. He is likely to replace Steve Smith at the number three position. Iyer hasn’t been selected in India’s T20 World Cup 15-member squad and has also been relieved of the captaincy duties in IPL. He certainly has a point to prove in the second leg of IPL 2021.

Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer should bat at number four and five respectively. Pant didn’t set the stage on fire during the India leg of IPL 2021. Ahead of the T20 World Cup, the Indian team would be hoping that he enjoys a great season for his franchise in UAE. So far, he has managed to score 213 runs in 8 matches at an average of 35.50.

Shimron Hetmyer played an eye-catching half-century in the first half of the tournament.

All-rounders: Marcus Stoinis and Axar Patel

As for the all-rounders, Marcus Stoinis and Axar Patel are going to be the preferred choices. Ahead of the IPL 2021, Stoinis has clearly stated his ambitions of becoming the best finisher in the world over the next few years.

He is coming into the tournament after taking a good break. He would be desperate to go out in the middle and smash some sixes against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Axar Patel, on the other hand, has picked 6 wickets 4 matches at an average of 18.66 and an economy of less than 8.

Bowlers: Ravichandran Ashwin, Avesh Khan, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje

Ravichandran Ashwin will make his way back into the playing XI against Hyderabad on Wednesday. He is going to be a vital cog in the spin department. The rest three spots are likely to be occupied by seamers such as Kagiso Rabada, Avesh Khan and Anrich Nortje.

Avesh Khan was their star performer in the first half of the tournament. He finished the India leg with 14 wickets in 8 matches at an average of 16.50. Kagiso Rabada managed to pick 8 wickets in 7 matches at an economy of 8.76.

Anrich Nortje is yet to play a game for Delhi Capitals this season. With Steve Smith batting at number three and Avesh Khan doing well with the ball, Nortje had to warm the benches this year. However, Shreyas Iyer’s return in the side means that Nortje is likely to play against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
