The latest batting sensation Ishan Kishan who had an amazing debut for India in T20s recently was dismissed on 99 in the previous IPL against RCB in the league stages. It was a match that went into the wire and super over was the only solution to the action-packed match which got tied. RCB batted first and got to 201 for the loss of three wickets which was a huge score.

In reply, Mumbai was struggling at 78 for four wickets but Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard turned the match around with a magnificent partnership. Ishan Kishan was unfortunate to be dismissed on 99 in 56 balls in a knock that comprised of 9 sixes and 2 fours. His dismissal led to Mumbai having a hold on the run chase and eventually they lost the game in the super over.

Prithvi Shaw scored a valiant 99 in the 2019 edition against the Kolkata Knight Riders and it was another match that was tied and decided in the super over. Shaw opened the innings alongside Shikhar Dhawan at the top and was cruising in the chase of 186 in a partnership with Shreyas Iyer.

Shaw’s dismissal at 99 of just 5 balls brought back KKR into the game, but Delhi came out best again from the Super over. It was a match that defined the talent Prithvi Shaw had and he hit 12 fours and 3 sixes in his innings and it was very unfortunate that he did not get to his first century in the IPL and he deserved a century despite getting the man of the match award.

The Indian skipper who misses rarely out on centuries but this was a match that he was dismissed on 99 against the Delhi Daredevils team in the IPL 2013. Kohli came to the crease at the fall of the first wicket and his 99 in 58 balls took RCB to a total of 183 with ten fours and four sixes in the innings.

Delhi in reply fell short by just 4 runs due to an outstanding spell from Jaydev Unadkat who picked up five wickets for just 25 runs. Kohli did go on to make many hundreds after that, but this will be a century that could have made him happier. Kohli’s knock was outplayed by Unadkat’s bowling and Unadkat received the man of the match award for his fifer.
