Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli was ecstatic after MS Dhoni, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain, finished off the chase versus Delhi Capitals (DC) in Qualifier 1 on Sunday in Dubai.

MS Dhoni scored 18 runs from 6 balls, with the help of three fours and a six, to chase down the target of 173 with two balls to spare. Earlier, Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 70 off 50 balls and Robin Uthappa scored 63 off 44 balls to lay the platform. After a mini-collapse in the CSK batting, MS Dhoni took his side over the line.

Virat Kohli, who has always been a super fan of his former captain, took to Twitter to celebrate the comeback of MS Dhoni the batsman, who has been out of touch this season.

The Indian captain hailed the CSK skipper as the “greatest finisher” of all time, saying that his knock and its conclusion made him jump out of his seat.

“Anddddd the king is back (heart emoji) the greatest finisher ever in the game. Made me jump Outta my seat once again tonight,” the RCB captain tweeted.

Virat Kohli will be in action on Monday when RCB take on KKR in Eliminator in Sharjah. RCB are coming off an exciting last-ball win over DC while KKR also have won their last two matches. This is also Kohli’s last season as RCB captain, he announced it earlier.

Just watch the ball and hit the ball: MS Dhoni

Taking about his quick dash versus the Capitals, MS Dhoni admitted that he had been out of form this season and this innings thus became a crucial one. He stated that he has been hitting the ball well in the nets, and just needed to do the same during the game.

“It was a crucial innings. They were using the bigger boundary very well. Nothing special, just watch the ball and hit the ball. I haven’t done a lot in the tournament. So you want to get that out of the system. If you are batting well in the nets, just look for the ball, what are the variations, where the bowler could bowl. Other than that there was nothing much in the mind. If there are too many things floating around, it becomes difficult to watch the ball,” the CSK skipper said after the victory.

CSK will take on the winner of Qualifier 2 in the final on Friday in Dubai. Delhi will face the winner of the clash between RCB and KKR.
