Later, CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis gave a fabulous start to the team, putting an opening stand of 74 runs. Towards the end, CSK needed 26 runs off the last 12 balls. Ravindra Jadeja’s quickfire of 22 off 8 turned the match in CSK’s favour. With little drama in the final over, CSK managed to pull off the victory on the final ball.

Delhi Capitals currently hold the 2nd spot in the points table with 16 points. Out of 10 games, the team has won 8 and lost 2. In the previous encounter, DC defeated Rajasthan Royals. DC batted first in the match and scored 154-6.

DC openers got out cheaply but later Shreyas Iyer played a brilliant knock of 43 runs. Rishabh Pant’s 24 and Shimron Hetmyer’s 28 also helped the team to reach a good total on the scoreboard. Later, Rajasthan Royals could only reach 121-6 in the 2nd innings.

Sanju Samson scored 70 runs for the team but DC dismissed the rest of the batsmen easily. DC showed brilliant teamwork in bowling with all the bowlers picking wickets. Anrich Nortje scalped 2 wickets while Avesh Khan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, and Axar Patel picked 1 wicket each.
