RCB vs DC- Prediction, Who Will Win The Match Between Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals? IPL 2021 Match 56. Royal Challengers Bangalore cross swords with Delhi Capitals in the 56th match of IPL 2021 on Friday. It will be the final match of the league stage competition of IPL 2021. Both the teams are through to the playoffs. Delhi Capitals are sitting at the top of the points table, having won 10 matches out of 13. Another win on Friday will consolidate their position at the top. A loss might take them to number two.
Delhi Capitals are in pretty good form, of late. They are coming into this encounter on the back of two consecutive wins. Having said that, Delhi would be looking to plug a few loopholes they are dealing with at the moment.
The bowling department doesn’t need any change and Delhi should stick with the same attack. They have perhaps the best fast bowling attack in the tournament. All three pacemen, namely Anrich Nortje, Avesh Khan and Kagiso Rabada has been hitting the right lengths and are amongst the wickets.
Axar Patel and Ashwin too have kept the batsmen guessing with his guile and turn. Axar, in particular, has enjoyed bowling at this surface. He has picked wicket consistently and didn’t allow the opposition to get going. A superb bowling effort from them in the last game helped DC restrict CSK to just 136 runs in the first innings.
Prithvi Shaw’s struggle in UAE continue to haunt them but he is unlikely to be replaced for the remainder of the tournament. The management would be hoping he gets his touchback. Shreyas Iyer’s presence has strengthened the middle over but DC would be dearly wanting Marcus Stoinis to recover and get back into the eleven.
Amongst all the batsmen, it was Shimron Hetmyer, who held his nerves and guided the side home in the last game. He played an unbeaten knock of 18 runs off 12 balls.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, is losing momentum at a crucial stage in the tournament. They have lost their last game against SRH and would be desperate to win the next game to get back to winning ways. Also, for them to make a case for a top-two finish, they have to win against Delhi by a significant margin.
RCB’s inability to pick wickets in the powerplay, once again, was on display. SRH lost only one wicket in the first 10 overs. However, RCB came back into the game stronger, picking nine wickets in the second over. Harshal Patel picked three out of them, while Christian picked two. RCB restricted SRH to 141 runs in the first innings.
However, they still fell 4 runs short of the target. The defeat has highlighted their batting woes in the department. Virat Kohli hasn’t been inconsistent enough and Devdutt Padikkal too hasn’t looked his fluent best. Glenn Maxwell is helping them win matches singlehandedly but the other players need to perform as well.
The decision to try out other batsmen at the different positions hasn’t worked out too well. With an important league stage match coming, RCB can’t afford to make too much changing and chopping.
What they can do is give more deliveries to AB de Villiers to play. The South African perhaps hasn’t spent a lot of time in the middle. His return to his best form is crucial for RCB if they want to lift the title this year.
