IPL 2021: There Can Be No Celebration Without MS Dhoni, We Will Wait - CSK CEO

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO, Kasi Viswanathan, said that the franchise will await the return of their skipper, MS Dhoni, before the celebrations begin. CSK defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final of the IPL 2021 season to lift their fourth IPL title.
After the tournament, Dhoni will join the Indian team as a mentor for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Therefore, he will stay back in UAE, where the ICC tournament is scheduled to take place. Speaking to ANI about the aftermath of the IPL title win, Kasi Viswanathan said:

“We shall wait for the skipper to return to India. We shall happily wait as there can be no celebration without MS. He has already switched caps from CSK skipper to Team India mentor, so we shall have a small get together once he returns to India after the T20 World Cup.”
“He is not Captain Cool for nothing” – Sunil Gavaskar on MS Dhoni
Former Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar was mighty impressed with the way MS Dhoni handled the run chase in the final of the IPL 2021 season. KKR were going great guns during the run chase, with their openers having put on a 91-run stand. However, the CSK camp looked calm, and much of it is down to what Dhoni brings to the table, Gavaskar felt.

“I haven’t been fortunate enough to have been in the same change room as Dhoni. But I just see the calmness that he brings to situations. He is not Captain Cool for nothing. There is never any panic. For the first time in that 19th over, when Thakur bowled wides, for the first time, I saw him diddle a bit because it was only delaying the inevitable,” Gavaskar said.
The final was also Dhoni’s 300th T20 match as a captain of a team. He has been the skipper of Team India, Chennai Super Kings, and Rising Pune Supergiants.
