Pravin Dubey
The Delhi-based franchise signed Pravin Dubey as an injury replacement for Amit Mishra in the 2020 edition. The franchise picked the Leggie once again in the 2022 edition, but the youngster didn’t get any games during the entire season.
The 29-year-old has been a consistent performer in a shorter format in the Indian domestic circuit. Speaking of domestic T20s, he has accounted for 20 wickets in 22 matches at a brilliant economy rate of 7.13. However, Delhi Capitals have two quality spinners in Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav in their ranks.
Meanwhile, they also have Lalit Yadav as another spin-bowling option in their playing XI. Hence, Pravin Dubey is way behind in the pecking order. Delhi Capitals could release the leg-spinner as they might opt to sign any young player keeping the future in mind.
Tim Seifert
Tim Seifert has a record of accomplishment of success in the T20 league. In the shortest format, he has played in 159 games and scored 3143 runs at a strike rate of 125.56. The Delhi franchise drafted the wicketkeeper hitter into the side for the 2022 season after he demonstrated his ability to destroy even the finest bowling attacks.
Because David Warner missed the first few games of the season, the Kiwi batter had a chance to highlight his talent. Nevertheless, Seifert was unable to capitalize on his opportunities and could only manage 24 runs in two appearances with a strike rate of 126.32. The 27-year-old was dropped from the side and not selected again after Warner was back in the equation.
Mandeep Singh
The Punjab batter has been featuring in the Indian Premier League since 2010. In his IPL career, he has played 108 matches and scored 1692 runs at a strike rate of 124.32. The 30-year-old has shown glimpses of his brilliance with the bat but inconsistencies have plagued his career.
In the auction for IPL 2022, Delhi Capitals picked the veteran batter for INR 1.1 crore. However, Mandeep Singh failed to repay the faith after failing miserably with the bat. Mandeep could only score 18 runs in 3 matches at a dismal strike rate of 78.26.
Delhi Capitals are likely to promote young gun Yash Dhull in the upcoming season and release Mandeep Singh. It will free up a massive amount of INR 1.1 crore for them and they will look to invest that amount elsewhere to strengthen their squad.
