Speaking about KKR’s bowling attack, they have retained the likes of Tim Southee and Umesh Yadav their international bowlers. They have managed to trade Lockie Ferguson ahead of the season. The Kiwi pacers will be their overseas pace bowling combination. Pat Cummins was released after he opted out of the next season prioritizing his national commitments.
Speaking about the spinners, Sunil Narine continues to be their trump card. He will be partnered by Varun Chakravarthy who is nowhere close to the Indian cricket team at the moment. He last played international T20I cricket for India in the T20 World Cup 2021. Nitish Rana is the other spinner on the side but is a part-timer.
In this article, we take a look at three spin options that KKR can target in the upcoming IPL 2023 auction. KKR have been a spin-heavy side over the years and thus they now need a quality spinner to partner with Narine.

Shakib Al Hasan
Shakib last played in IPL 2021 for KKR. He was a part of the side that made the final but lost out to Chennai Super Kings. The Bangladesh T20I skipper went unsold in the IPL 2022 auction. Shakib has played alongside Sunil Narine since 2012 for the Knight Riders. He has picked up 47 wickets for KKR in 51 games. KKR can look to buy back Shakib and once again forge the Narine-Shakib partnership.

Adam Zampa
Zampa is one of the leading spinners in T20 cricket at the moment. He is a regular member of the Australian T20I side and he recently played in the T20 World Cup. The leggie has played for Rising Pune Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. KKR can look to target him in the upcoming auction and play both Narine and Zimpa together in the playing XI.
Adil Rashid
After his successful World Cup campaign with England, Adil Rashid is expected to fetch a high bid at the auctions. Rashid has played just one IPL game for Punjab Kings in IPL 2022. Given his experience as a white-ball bowler, he will be on the radar of many teams including KKR. Rashid and Narine bowling together would be one of the sights in the IPL. The leggie has been England’s go-to bowler in T20 cricket and white-ball cricket overall. It will be interesting to see if KKR goes for Rashid.
