Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Players 2023, Squad, Players List, Retained Players, Released Players List, Remaining Purse Value, Team List.  Kolkata Knight Riders are all set to participate in IPL 2023 auction and grab some good players during the mega event. IPL 2023 auction takes place next month on December 23. The venue of the mini-auction is Kochi in Kerala.

Ahead of the auction, Kolkata Knight Riders retained a total of 14 players during IPL 2023 retentions. KKR also released 15 players from their squad and traded 3 players into their squad. Some top domestic players that KKR retained in their squad are Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana, Umesh Yadav, and Varun Chakravarthy.

Some popular overseas players that KKR retained in their team are Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Tim Southee. KKR also traded three players into their squad- Shardul Thakur, Lockie Ferguson, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

Last season, KKR failed to qualify for playoffs. The team led by Shreyas Iyer won 8 games and lost 6 out of 14. With 12 points, they finished in the 7th spot in the points table and could not get a seat in the playoffs. In the prior 2021 season, KKR was the runners-up.

Kolkata Knight Riders have won the IPL title twice in the 2012 and 2014 editions. They came close in the 2021 season but lost to Chennai Super Kings in the final.
