The SRH vs MI IPL 2024 match will be played in Hyderabad on Wednesday, March 27. The match starts at 7.30 pm IST and is the second game of the season for both teams. Both teams lost their respective campaign openers. MI lost to Gujarat Titans while SRH lost to KKR. Both teams lost the game chasing. While SRh failed to chase 209 and fell short by four runs, Mumbai Indians failed to chase 169 and fell short by six runs.

Both teams were well placed with the game heading into the final five overs. However, the bowling team managed to squeeze the runs and took wickets at regular intervals. In the end, the bowlers of both sides kept their nerves to eke out the contest.

MI is led by Hardik Pandya while SRH are led by Pat Cummins. Both the captains were roped in at record deals by their respective franchises. However, Hardik Pandya’s captaincy was heavily criticized for some of the decisions he took.

He decided to open the bowling despite the presence of Jasprit Bumrah and Luke Wood in the XI. In the end, Bumrah bowled a magnificent spell of 3/13 off his four overs while Pandya went for 30 off his three.

He then decided to bat lower down the order and batted at number seven promoting Tim David ahead of him in the lineup. The move did not quite work as he did not finish the job for his side. Mi continued their trend of losing the opening game since 2013.

SRH, on the other hand, has a problem of plenty when it comes to choosing their overseas players. Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen, and Cummins himself were the chosen four in the last match. The likes of Travis Head, Glenn Phillips, and Fazalhaq Farooqi did not play the last game. It will be interesting to see their combination in this game.
