Former Indian left-arm seamer Irfan Pathan has noted that Suryakumar Yadav will be the answer to India’s search for a 360-degree player and hailed his performance in the first T20I. However, Suryakumar Yadav did not have the best tournament in the T20 World cup 2021 and failed to be among the runs in the crucial encounter against Pakistan.
Suryakumar Yadav played a valiant knock of 62 off 40 balls in a chase of 164 and top-scored for India in the first T20I against New Zealand. Batting at number three, the right-hander hit six fours and three sixes in his quickfire innings and helped India get over the line.

Irfan Pathan Impressed With Suryakumar Yadav’s Form
Irfan Pathan mentioned that it is too early to predict if Suryakumar might become a big player in the next T20 World cup edition and felt that it was unfortunate for the right-hander to lose on his opportunity in the T20 World cup. He added that Suryakumar is always a quality batsman with his domestic numbers and IPL form.
“It is still far away. India have to play many more games before the next edition. But Suryakumar has given good signs for the future.
“In the first match of the 2021 T20 World Cup, he didn’t look in form, and, unfortunately, he couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity at that time, but he remains a very good batter. He has played well in domestic cricket consistently, and has impressed in IPL as well, so we know he is a quality batter,” Irfan Pathan told on the Star Sports show.

“He Has The Ability To Cover All Directions” – Irfan Pathan
Irfan Pathan opined that Suryakumar Yadav has the ability to become the 360-degree player India has been searching for and mentioned his capability of playing both spin and pace.
“If we talk about a 360-degree player, I think Suryakumar is our answer to that question. Because he tries to play in all directions, and he has the ability to cover all directions. He plays well against spinners and can deal with pace as well. And as we saw today, he completely showed his capabilities,” Irfan Pathan added.
